Adorable Little Musical Trinket

I found the coolest site called Mixpod that lets you create playlists filled with YouTube videos and embed them in your social profiles or websites. I could waste WAY too much time here. One can make cute, skinned music players to share with your peeps… like this:

or this… this playlist makes little sense - I went off on several tangents, but it looks like my iPod! So adorable!

There are many other neat skins and players, and a lot of them can be customized with colors (any color) and some pre-set patterns like the lovely brand you see above. Check them out!

Lest ye fear this has no practical purpose except to amuse your own self, here are some ideas for using this delectable tool for business or promotional purposes:

  • Have a cooking vlog or some other educational series of videos? Package them up in one of these players and give site visitors the ability to embed them on their own sites (say, on a niche topic like Healthy Breakfasts or Holiday Desserts) for extra exposure!
  • If you have a blog that covers a lot of ground, but have videos on a particular subject matter (like Olivier Blanchard does on social media ROI, for example), create a player with just those videos for an easy to watch spot on your site, and/or let others embed the playlist also for extra exposure.
  • Are you in love with a famous celebrity or musician? (Or model, actress or pornstar, for you guys?) Why not whip together an ode to your favorite personage with their own playlist? Easy to watch over and over again, to boot.
  • Are you Nike? Or some other giant brand with clever or inspirational commercials that people like to share for motivation, humor or simply to look cool? (Haha!) Package those puppies up in a portable playlist, Jeep! Let the people have what they want, and promote your brand for nada whilst doing it. ;-)
  • Do you watch any free series of shows on YouTube? Exercise comes to mind, but sitcoms, etc. can all be put together in chronological order to make it easy to watch or share with others.
  • If you have video of your kids throughout the years, assemble them into one player and watch them grow up before your very eyes!

Okay, I have to go do some VERY important and productive things. Uhh, yeah, that’s right. Work-type stuff, involving David Cook and Daughtry. :-)
