Chip’s Vision: the 4020 Re-Imagined
For folks who wonder why I am tweeting and talking about tractors, it’s because my partner-in-crime Lisa is working with John Deere to help promote a special contest in which Chip Foose, the legendary custom car designer, will overhaul a not-quite-vintage 4020 tractor. (They came out in the 70’s.)
Anyone who has watched Overhaulin’ knows how Chip Foose works. He sees his target, walks around it, rips it apart, re-imagines it, plays with ideas and concepts, and then sits down with his markers and crafts a dream machine. Big Buck Webisode 4 (just launched last night) offered a sneak peek at Foose and team working on a stripped down tractor, with a few pencil sketches of his early thoughts. But we have the official, approved-by-Deere rendering here – and personally I love it!! What a creative man.
